Back In Action!!!

Let’s face it. The last couple of years were tough. Tried as I might, I could not get clients to let me come on site to their offices. Remote work just doesn’t cut it for me. As a high flying mega-consultant, I cannot limit myself to webcams. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx just don’t capture my aura. Luckily, I was able to focus my efforts on cryptocurrency and my books. I hate to brag, but I made several million dollars and was able to keep myself afloat.

Exciting Announcement!

Now, I am back in action. I got the band back together and we had our first onsite visit this week. I retained my status with the airline (of course) and immediately resumed my rightful place in First Class. The feel of the hot towel as I washed perspiration from my face was delightful. How I missed the taste of orange juice freshly squeezed out of a carton in a plastic cup! During the flight I prepared myself mentally for the customer visit. Upon landing, I immediately staked my claim to an upgraded SUV that could seat 8 people. The 3 of us climbed in and declined the pre-paid option for refueling. As a big time executive consultant, I will return the car and my company will pay the $13.56 per gallon to refill this vehicle!

User Provisioning Saves the Day

The Client….

Let me be clear. I don’t work cheaply. When people call and request my aura, they know it will cost them plenty. That did not stop my latest client. A mid-sized real estate firm decided to go for the brass ring and request me and my team to come in and save the day. Before engaging my team of rock stars and ninjas, I vetted their ability to provide us with the proper conference rooms and chairs. After receiving confirmation of their capabilities in these areas, I gave the order to the team to commence travel.

The Challenge…

It was taking the customer months to properly provision new users. A new real estate agent was hired and they could not conduct business! Over-priced home sales could not be made due to faulty user provisioning. I casually asked the CIO if he was aware of how much money he was losing. I also made inference to the fact that I have had CIOs removed for lesser offenses and would not hesitate to outsource his role. He immediately quivered in my presence and gave me the keys to the kingdom.

The Solution…

My team of ninjas immediately sprang into action. George created a 50 page Gantt chart filled with circular dependencies. Marge created a workflow diagram that went for several miles. I staffed a team of offshore resources, project managers, program managers, note takers, food runners, and Uber drivers for a cool $20 million. We then celebrated with a surf and turf meal at the most expensive restaurant in town.

I hope you find this story inspiring,

TCC

#MachineLearning, a tale of success and conquest

Many times I am asked to help with Requests for Proposal from customers. One such customer was visited this past week. The client is a large producer of industrial equipment. They are trying to capture all kinds of data from the millions of sensors they deploy in their equipment. As a #BigData and #IoT guru, I am often called in to save the day.

I don’t like to brag, but my aura often leads to me completely taking over a conference room. When the discussions get real and the stakes are high, I GRAB the projector and go into full PowerPoint ninja mode.

When we arrived onsite, I got down to brass tacks. The client was looking for a solution that would allow them to proactively replace faulty sensors and provide better insights to their customers on how they were using their equipment. After carefully listening and stroking my chin, I immediately went into a detailed explanation of how #IoT, #BigData, and #Hadoop were critical.

Now one of the tricks is to give the customer JUST enough to make them realize they need you and cannot survive without you. I immediately went into use-case examples of other successful clients who had allowed me to save their businesses. I used terms like agility, robust, cloudburst, starburst, fog computing, and wage arbitrage to force the client into a total state of salivation at their ability to use my services.

This week I am going back onsite with a full team of experts to seal the deal. The goal: get the client to sign on the line which is dotted. I will keep you posted.

Sincerely, TCC

On a personal note, I am really excited to be kicking off this blog. For a year or so now, I have become concerned that Joe Q. Public is missing the boat on the merging of Cloud Computing, Big Data, Analytics, and IoT. This blog is meant to capture the dreams, goals, and imagination of everyone who reads it! Welcome!
